A mellow Halloween, all told. R went off with a friend to the infamous "D Street" on the other side of town, where the top-of-the-line decorating and treats happen. S and I hit a couple of blocks, then she had a piece or three of candy, and went happily to bed (having picked up the phrase, "I really scored," from me, I'm afraid). R came back with stories of how much fun she'd had, full of great good feeling for the whole world. She said she only had about five pieces of candy, but whatever they were, they sure made her a believer.


I'm focusing on the novel, now. Two hours until NaNoWriMo. Ready-set-write!
