In honor of Mother's Day, here's to my two moms - the one who raised me, and who still visits my dreams at least once a week, fourteen years after her death:

...and the one who gave birth to me as a teenager, and whom I still miss after nearly five years without her. I was doubly blessed. I can still hear their laughter without much effort. Such great women. It's just a weird coincidence that the pictures I found to best represent them here are shots in hats.
I am grateful that they're not having to live through this pandemic, mostly because they both faced health challenges, and the fear of the virus would have been frightening and stressful.
But then again, I can't help but wish they were here.
Grief comes with its own brand of selfishness.
