Poetry Brain

I've been so immersed in completing the latest draft of my thesis (38 poems) and reviewing books of poetry - plus writing new poems - that my brain is feeling a little foggy. In the best way.

Writing poetry puts one in an altered state. Of course, it can also be true that being in an altered state can make one write poetry, but I've found that there's a distinct mood associated with the act. Perhaps some day I shall better articulate that idea. For now, I know that my alarm will be going off in fewer than 8 hours, and I still want to stretch out some tight muscles before I hit the hay. Anon, anon.

And here's a figure from Asterix found online as proof for my thesis advisor that SPQR should be known to readers of the comic.
