Do you know about the author of the Eloise books, Kay Thompson? What a character. I had no idea. She was wild, eccentric, strong, determined and proud. She was probably very hard to live with, but at the same time she was inspirational. She never stopped, and she never looked back.
I truly admire people like that - artists on fire for life - but sometimes, I have to admire them from afar. Close enough to be warmed and lit up, but not so close that I burn to a crisp. My focus now is on creating my own light, having my own fire.
(And in the meantime, having fun fun fun by doing things like reading Eloise books to my kids.)
